| On the 1st of July 2010, the Association of Succession, Trust and Estate Planning Practitioners (ASTEP) in conjunction with Vetiva Capital hosted a workshop on estate planning and wealth management titled “Estate Planning and Wealth Management Techniques of the 21st Century”.
Perchstone & Graeys is a pioneer member of ASTEP; an association established with the objective of creating awareness on wealth management. In the light of the recent global financial crisis, investors’ minds have been awoken to the responsibility of managing and protecting their wealth. ASTEP is set to broaden the understanding of the importance and interconnectedness of the 3 fundamentals of wealth management namely: the accumulation, preservation and transmission of wealth.
The association intends to create a world where investors no longer overlook or downplay the wealth transmission process and for them to recognize that the mark of true wealth is ensuring that it endures to the next generation. The workshop explored the various options and techniques available within the Nigerian legislative framework as well as other jurisdictions for the effective transfer of wealth and estate planning.... |
